Acceptance of contributions

Acceptance of any contribution, gift, or grant is at the discretion of SIDEfxHUB. SIDEfxHUB will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of our organisation. No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardise the donor's financial security.

SIDEfxHUB will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation. SIDEfxHUB will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of SIDEfxHUB.

Data we collect when you donate

When you make a donation through our website, we collect the following data to manage your donation and to comply with legal requirements:

• First and last name
• Email address (for your receipt)
• Donation amount and whether it is a one-time or monthly donation
• Your home address — only if you make a Gift Aid declaration (HMRC requires it)
• Transaction details such as the donation reference, receipt number and payment status
• An option to remain anonymous if preferred

Payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe; your card number never reaches our servers. This data helps us process your donation, provide receipts, and maintain our records. Donation and Gift Aid records are retained for six years as required by UK law. Gift Aid

For donors who are UK taxpayers, your contribution can be enhanced by Gift Aid, which adds an extra 25% to your donation at no additional cost to you, under the current government policy. By ticking the Gift Aid box you confirm you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations, it is your responsibility to pay any difference. Please notify us if you want to cancel your declaration, change your name or home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax.

Monthly donations

Monthly donations are collected by card on or around the same day each month. You can update your payment method or cancel at any time using the link in any receipt email, or by emailing us — no questions asked. See also our Refund Policy.

Other gifts and conditions

Certain other gifts, such as real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for SIDEfxHUB.

SIDEfxHUB will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, SIDEfxHUB will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know. SIDEfxHUB will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to SIDEfxHUB.
